The other ones play fine.

All other episodes say mpg4, they play fine.

Any ideas?

For some reason the newest episode is a .mov file, not an mp4 like the previous episodes. You need to download and install Quicktime (or an equivalent). It's free and readily available.

The download version sitting on my hard drive is an mp4.

But yes, you need Quicktime, and not just any, you need the latest version -- Quicktime 7. I discovered this after a lot of trial and error. Quicktime 6 (which I had) wouldnt play it. Nor would any other AV players with any number of mp4 codecs installed.

How did it get cancelled? What does one have to do to get cancelled on the internets? This site was about as popular as they come.

I have to say, I think Yacht Rock missed the mark. It could have been a lot more. The jokes were funny, but really easy. The whole thing came off as budget Mr. Show.
It was a hell of a lot better than most "funny" things on the interent, and I salut(e) the hard work, but there were just too many missed opportunities.

On the subect of Michael McD, did anyone ever see that SNL where he had to make it to the studio, across NYC traffic, to cut his vocals with Christopher Cross? I can't stand that guy's Bassett Hound vocal stylings, but he's really good natured about it.

That was SCTV, the episode I wrote about a couple pages ago.

The video clip for "Ride Like the Wind" is Rick Moranis as Michael McDonald, toolin' around LA in a convertible and dashing into a recording studio just in time to sing his backups on the chorus.

If I remember correctly, this is an unedited shot, just like the intro to Touch of Evil.

Classic.
