Let me say that I am very skeptical of this sort of thing, but at least one incident has reminded me that I don't 'have all the answers'. That isn't the incident I'm relating here, however.

As a 5-year old, one night I heard a voice...in the room with me...it seemed 'cartoonish', in the sense that someone was saying 'Boooo...', in that way you say when you are playing with kids. My mother and myself were the only occupants of the house at the time. It scared me silly, but I remember thinking, 'boy this sounds fake'.

Turns out, years later, I find out that both my grandfather and my great-grandfather died in that house...my great-grandfather in the same room I slept in. He was notorious for being a practical joker/putting on masks and scaring the kids/etc. Go figure.

Awww! Now that you've sparked our curiosity, won't you please tell us about it? C'mon Uncle rayj! I'm jealous because I've never had any first-hand experience with this sort of stuff. I heard a voice once when I was little, but that's it.

OK....

Preface: The incident occurred when I was 19. At the time, I was completely straight...no booze, drugs, nada. I was also a very serious atheist (still am), was all about using scientific methodology for establishing knowledge, etc. Very serious about it...I lived in Missouri, for chrissakes. There are all kinds of christian nutcases there, and I was against it all.

I had been seriously dating this girl for some time. She was a smart, multitalented, musician/linguist/punkrocker/arty/writer type. A little crazy.

She was at my place. I had just cooked her dinner. My mom, whom I lived with at the time, had left about an hour ago. All of a sudden, my date grabs my arm, and with detail nobody could possibly know or fabricate (exact sentences, movements, motives, duration, etc.), she said that my mother would show back up, and described EXACTLY what she would do, about 3 minutes in advance of the actual events. She had forgotten some keys, and spent some time finding them. Let me repeat that the predictions were unbelievably specific ("she's going to walk in the door, say that she couldn't find ...'some...key, take 5 steps towards me, say '...', walk towards the back room, etc. etc.).

The only way it could have come close to being faked was if they were colluding on blowing my mind - highly unlikely, and requiring a performance I don't think my mum is capable of.

My date maintained that all the information was from a dream she had the previous night, and she just remembered it as she related it to me.

I was floored, and literally had to put my worldview back together afterwards. Still freaks me out a little just thinking about it.

It dosen`t mean necessaryly that you had a supernatural experience. Second sight is maybe a natural human ability, but most of us are not aware of that.
Who said time is a linear thing? It`s like a curve, isnt It?

I agree with you 100%. It was 'supernatural' in the sense that it was beyond my natural abilities to comprehend. I think that anything 'supernatural' is merely incomprehensible to the parties involved.

It certainly freaked my shit, though. Quantum mechanics seem open to better models of whatever 'time' actually is.
