Haha I almost bought that a couple times in san diego for $100-200 but I've never played a GK cab with speakers I like, i don't know why?! but it IS perfect. I want a 2x10

Holy hell, nearly $1k! I've really wanted to try out one of the new lightweight Mesa 2x15 cabs (they weigh 60 lbs WTF!?!?!) but fucking spending $2k on a damn cab!

Yeah, so, I'll reframe my request: Recommend me an easy-to-come-by-used-and-cheap compact bass cab.

There's some SWR 2x10s under $100 listed local-ish-ly, but for some reason I have always assumed (based on nothing) that SWR is garbage. Also some Eden 2x10's that look less compact than I'd like, but vaguely "thiel"/tl-606ish in their porting that are reasonably priced. I welcome thoughts on those or others, and am also generally curious what the hive mind thinks of 1x12 bass cabs, and why 12" speakers seem so uncommon for bass.

There's a style of 2x10 that's built by SWR, Fender etc. with a center port that I've heard sound fine. People are trashing 2x10 cabs enough that the move is probably just to buy a couple good speakers and have at it.

I got a 1960 for free. Tolex is fucked but otherwise great. Should just get it sprayed with bedliner or something. They make that stuff in snakeskin right?

That Road is cheap enough and close enough that I'm considering it, but size is the issue at the moment.

I am looking to buy a not terrible but not terribly expensive (<$350) mic primarily for acoustic guitar for my brother. He has been using an AT2020 for years but I figure it is time to treat him to at least a slight upgrade. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
