kinda like if Jimmy finished the paint job.

412Cool! I'm here it for it. Literally. Am waiting for mine to arrive on Monday or Tuesday. Got a Lake Placid Blue model. The only mods I'll be making will be installing a custom neck plate with a cartoon image of my dog (I get these on all Fenders and Squiers), and some straplocks.TylerDeadPine wrote: Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:20 pm Jazzmaster XII came in, and everything that was said previously is exactly what I found. The pickups sound great! I love the sound, no interest in changing them at all.
In the meantime, gonna look up the tab for The Zombies' "I Don't Want To Know."

413I feel that this neck plate will only improve the tone and I will post on any forums you need me to in order to prove it.DaveA wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 5:35 pmCool! I'm here it for it. Literally. 414Yeah, I think a large part of the siren-like hold the Squier Supersonic has over me is "blue sparkle"Ace K wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 1:39 amGod, yeah. I have a blue sparkle Danelectro Convertible and it's an incredible look. I kind of want more sparkle guitars?

415Custom neck plates improving tone: no more specious than outfitting a stereo with tweaks! The Gear Page needs a sub-forum about 'em stat.TylerDeadPine wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 9:51 pmI feel that this neck plate will only improve the tone and I will post on any forums you need me to in order to prove it.DaveA wrote: Fri Jun 23, 2023 5:35 pmCool! Also, just realized “I’m here it for it” sounds rather “All your base . . .”
But the Paranormal XII can’t get here soon enough. Enjoy yours. Have got a buddy that I've been trying to get into taking up music, and instrument-wise, just about any of these recent Squiers would be a swell place to start.

416Behringer 12" PA subwoofer
Got this because <link in signature> band is working to beef up our live sound with things like small lav-style mics and contact mics. Been working a ridiculously long time trying to get more bass out of the machines, which seems to be: a small platform with underside contact mic>noise gate>EQ>powered subwoofer. Sounds pretty righteous and was only $350.
The sub also sounds...ok on my home office stereo. There's a very small zone where adding a sub sounds deep and tight and improves the listening experience without being over the top.

417Just duckin' in to say . . . The Paranormal XII is damn swell. Zero complaints. Pickups do indeed sound great. Fretboard very playable. Build quality is sturdy. Nice instrument all around. And good bang for one's buck.

418One of us, One of us. I've been shocked at how well mine is staying in tune even without doing any work on the nut - I love this headstock.DaveA wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2023 12:21 pm Just duckin' in to say . . . 419Audient Sono USB guitar/preamp recording interface
Needed something simple for "silent" bedroom recording, amp-free, and that wasn't full of bullshit RAWK amp models and other spurious guff. These are a few years old, and prices have dropped considerably of late. 12AX7 preamp, IRs, power amp modelling, and a couple of additional mic/line preamps for other stuff too. Pedals sound "normal" through the dedicated guitar input, seems easy to setup/use, low latency...it sounds OK out of the box but definitely need to get tweaking to get the best out of it. Headphone monitoring isn't brilliant, but it seems to record well enough. Early days, but I think it's going to be perfectly OK for my humble needs.

"What am I gonna do with 40 subscriptions to Vibe?"
I talk disjointed music-related guff over here. You're welcome.

420As much as big rock star paraphernalia bores me, that is still an awesome looking guitar. I also really like that black Les Paul Kieth Richards painted.
