You really think McCain will beat Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton? No, you don't...at least not anymore.

Head-to-head national polls aren't worth dick. They're only interesting when it shows: "Here's how Hillary would do against McCain in this broad-ass poll...here's how Obama would do against McCain in comparison to Hillary."

You still think Hillary will beat McCain?...or have you changed your mind back to your original McCain over all comers prediction?

I think Hillary had a shot, but less so now. I don't want McCain, but I think he is gonna win this. I would much rather be voting Edwards this time around.

Yeah but WHY is McCain going to win?

Do you really think he'll win any states that fucking Kerry managed to win??

Iowa will go Obama. Colorado is in play. Ohio will go to Obama because John McCain won't stop talking about what a good thing NAFTA is and because he has said "I don't know that much about the economy."

The only state I see going back to the Republicans is New Hampshire.

Explain why McCain has got this thing. Please.

I feel more inclined to vote for Obama just based on the fact that I don't space out as much when he's talking.

That said, here's a link to a blogger who feels that Obama has been playing the race card, not Hillary. I don't think it's completely valid, but I could see how this type of racial ju-jitsu could spiral out of control.

Also, presidential candidates need to be put through some more intensive tests, contests, than they currently do. A physical and/or mental competition between them, maybe a Reality TV type of set-up, where the public can see how fast on their feet they are, how quick their reflexes are. Anyone can drone nice platitudes and bask in applause from their choir, and the way the debates are structured don't cut it. Nationally televised real-time think-on-your-feet competitions between these pampered flouncing whores. I don't understand why this hasn't already happened yet.

Because I think people are racist enough that Obama brings as many to the polls to vote against him as for him. And because the numbers should not be this close for a Republican after the last 8 years of horror. Last election, I went to bed thinking Kerry would be the president when I woke up. That did not happen. Prove me wrong Amerika.

I don't think it is will Obama take the states that Kerry won, it is will he take the states that Hillary won. McCain is going to take a whole bunch of the states that are giving Obama a delegate lead, and the victories there don't mean all that much.

Really? Based on what? I live in NH and don't feel it turning Republican at all. Quite the opposite, actually.

It shifts back and forth. In 2000 (because of Nader) it went Republican. 2004, it went to Kerry. In 2000 and 2008, New Hampshire helped McCain immensely in both his presidential runs. It's not the Republicans New Hampshire likes, it's McCain. As connor said, Obama's independent primary vote drifted to McCain.

You babbling nut. You are *describing* head-to-head polls. There *are no* broad polls left, idiot. There is *only* Obama-McCain OR Hillary-McCain. What do you think, they are still including Edwards in some February poll??

And you cite head-to-head polls all the time. Stop babbling.

Minotaur, in February, referring to Obama as a 'Teflon' candidate:
minotaur029 wrote:Ever heard of a Teflon candidate? Dickhead. I will be shocked if they're still talking about this pastor shit in November.

Minotaur in January, refering to the 'dangerously high negatives' of Obama:
minotaur029 wrote:There is the possibility of the brokered convention in which a dark horse comes out of the woodwork due to the dangerously high negatives (negatives as in "do you look upon so-and-so favorably?") of Obama and Hillary.

How can Obama have high negatives and be Teflon, you numbskull?

1) Head-to-head national polls? Get serious. Get a job.

2) That Teflon candidate comment...I made it in March. That Wright stuff didn't break until March.

3) Possibility. Who could have known just how good Obama could be at deflecting criticism? He took mudslinging in the form of Pastor Wright, and turned it into a universally lauded speech on race.

4) Regarding a dark horse stepping in, I think it's unlikely, but analysts and politicians still talk about it all the time. In fact, the possibility was discussed again just today!

Political Wire, March 26th 2008 wrote:Rep. Tim Mahoney (D-FL) told Scripps Howard that if the Democratic convention is brokered, Al Gore could become the compromise nominee.

Said Mahoney: "If it (the nomination process) goes into the convention, don't be surprised if someone different is at the top of the ticket."

Move out of your parents' house, Rick. Get a college education. Get a life.
