Yeah, I didn't know him well personally but he didn't strike me as someone who was very interested in Digging Up Old Shit From Way Back™. It's interesting to listen to for archivist-nerds though.

It's better than I would have expected (and better than shit I was doing in H.S.). Sorta Rocket from the Tombs or Crime SF.
