The thing that gets me is that everything is now changed forever. Like, what happens next? They're destroying our institutions, destroying our relationship with our allies, destroying our credit rating. Let's say in four years, we elect a democratic president. There's 53 members of the senate and 217 members of congress that rubber stamped all of this. How do we go forward and work with the people that sabotaged us on purpose? If the executive ignores the legislative and judiciary branches, what's the point of even having laws? If the constitution gets suspended, how are we even a country? Trump would be president of what, then? States would be on their own and form unions elsewhere. I just don't understand the endgame here. I mean, I get it, they want to do things like get rid of agencies and policies that "waste" money on regular people, build up our military and find every possible way to let rich conglomerates to buy everything up (looking at private farmers as an example). But if we're all broke and our constitution is in tatters, what do elected representatives even matter that point? We're only a country because we have some papers that say so and we all follow the law of the land. Without that, we're just a landmass. Why would the states send money back to the fed if the fed isn't even a thing anymore? And where is the fucking oath to the constitution that so many people took?

He called him President Musk!

Yeah, JB's press conferences are almost always well done.

i can try to catch you up but it's all patchy.
zack returned to the forum and started preaching end times theology and claiming trump was the antichrist. he said his dad did 9/11. he went schizophrenic and made threats to steve. we said get help. he peaced out. i assumed he either died or ended up in a facility.
he reappeared one time and that was that.
i hope he doesn't read this, but if he does, i hope he is well.

I guess the first question is why would you elect a fascist felon due to inflation that his shit policies will just exacerbate? We have a sad fucking population.

Wood Goblin wrote: Wed Feb 12, 2025 10:41 am That reminds me, what happened to all of the people whose #1 issue was “imperialism”? They seem to have become awfully quiet lately. Why, were I a cynic, I’d say that they never actually gave a shit about imperialism at all! In fact, they might be the same people who’s #1 issue was “drone strikes” for exactly three months in 2016!
Maga doesn't actually believe anything.
defunding USAID was the most anti-imperialist move i've seen from the white house in years. goblin is right, very few acknowledged that.

All it said was we don't believe in soft power, we'll do all bullets wherever it suits us, thank you.

He's not wrong. Don is basically just his meat vessel. He needed a born American since he's an illegal.

Just posting the article is enough, not sure why you'd think otherwise and to want to change the title to get whatever attention it is you seek.

Keep doing what you do.
if chud is right about the foe function working then i guess my reason is mostly aesthetic. the title has to go somewhere so why not at the top?
but i'm not sure he is. titles have to show up on the main index page at least.
i could find out but i don't want to start a foe list.
Also, just read the room. Do you find other FMs frequently changing thread titles? It may be a social norm.....
if you could explain what the concern is, i'd consider it. the last thing i want to do is detract from your enjoyment of the PRF.
but i think you just like to complain.

I'm not a big complainer around here, in fact I'd say your unique sensibilities have pissed me off less than they have many of our fellow FMs.

The thread retitle....

I suppose it's annoying because it makes it look like a brand new thread, or an unfamiliar one but it's actually old. It bait-and-switch seems to change the topic which either takes away from the preferred focus, or falsely offers a long thread on a topic of interest without delivering. The inner librarian bristles.
