I suppose it's annoying because it makes it look like a brand new thread, or an unfamiliar one but it's actually old. It bait-and-switch seems to change the topic which either takes away from the preferred focus, or falsely offers a long thread on a topic of interest without delivering. The inner librarian bristles.

Maggie Haberman is as complicit in all of this as anyone. Moreso it could be argued. She held onto specific reporting for her book to sell more and make more dough.
