Hey Tim, I got a few questions.

Propane or charcoal? (I know you're a fan of the Green Egg, but I thought I'd ask anyway as far as practicality goes.)

I'm sure this has question has been covered by another thread that you may have replied to, but if you could've written one song that you didn't write, what song would it be?

Is there any way to get the new EP on CD? (I would prefer to rip the .wav files to MP3 specifications as well as file it on my shelf.)

How good is that opening riff on "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp"?

Why do you think the chicks didn't dig on Silkworm? I certainly did, but I do remember being one of very few XX'ers at your shows for a while.

Is it because you wrote songs about "boy" things?

Don't know. I don't know about any of the why people do don't like the Worm stuff. It's a mystery to me.

I guess it is sorta raw and harsh music in many ways. Not conventionally so. Hmmmm. Dunno!

Did women not like Silkworm? My wife loves 'em.

Don't get me wrong--there are the female SKWM fans out there. It's just that the 'boyfriend really into them, gf kinda totally bored and/or irritated' thing was not uncommon, esp pre-Lifestyle or so.

Tim-You ever think Sony is going to do fancy reissues of Pangea and Agartha?

Probably not, but it would seem ripe for licensing to Rhino or someone like that.

The large Egg sounds good to me. Canadian pricing for the medium is $699, $899 for the large, and $1150 or so for the XL.

Yeah, I mean, you can get two mediums for not much more than the XL. And it looks dumb. The XL does. Look dumb.

Thank you for this thread, Tim.

Psssshhh. I am just responding. The only difference between this and some lame advice column is that I am not picking and choosing my material.

Propane or charcoal? (I know you're a fan of the Green Egg, but I thought I'd ask anyway as far as practicality goes.)

Propane is more practical. But I have never understood cooking outside with gas. Why not cook inside?

Charcoal is a hundred times better for flavor.

What Goes On.

There's gonna be a CD in there with the 12". Right in there!

There's no way to get it in a jewel case, unless you put it in there yourself.

Yeah, it's good. It's a whole song, basically. He just stuck enough stuff for a whole song on there as an intro. Far freaking out.

Did you go to college and, if so, what did you study? Has it helped you at your current job?

Nah. I'm sure they are reasonable people. There is a large subset of the population that has no need for the Worm.

The Classical, I remember your wife. See, she's funny and smart and good-looking. So that's different.

I went straight out of HS, studied drama and English at Northwestern, 'studied' English and shit at University of MT.

Then I dropped out and played music for 8yrs.

Then I went back and got an electrical engineering degree.

I couldn't do my job w/o having gotten an EE or something very like it. Before I studied engineering, I was dumb in the wrong areas and not even close to disciplined enough.

Hello Tim,

I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the band Shalimar. I think they're fucking great.

Best,
RSM

Yes she is indeed.

Though I do have a thought that maybe explains something, my wife she loves SKWM, but for a long time she was a "secret" fan, she would never openly admit to being interested in the music. She would always come along to the shows and such, but for a long time she would never say "I like SKWM" and I think this partly becuz my friends and I were such HUGE fans that she wouldn't want to seem like she was trying to get in on a dude thing.

I'm not explaining it right, what I'm trying to say is that maybe all those "bored" g-friends were actually just "secret" fans.
