SVT Classic (reissue) made a squeal and loss power. The clever biasing led indicator circuit showed a fault with the tubes on one half of the push-pull. I swapped the set of tubes to see if the problem followed the tubes, and it didn't.
There was a burned out resistor (R11) on the printed 6550 circuit board. This was a resistor going from one of the grids to +345VDC. Replaced resistor, 6550 tubes (all 6 matched), then cleaned all the loop and board connections, biased the amp- works now. That sucker was heavy, and a bitch to get into.
