Any bets on tonight's match? I have no clue on how Switzerland or Ukraine are playing so far, but I had to miss Italy vs Australia as I'm at work so I'll be watching that.

Could go either way later. Shevchenko has finally found form. Not necassarily in a prolific scoring way, but bringing his team mates into it. And the Ukraine really get a massive boost when he plays well. The younger players worship him and rally like crazy when he is on form. As for the Swiss, they are extremely well orginised and play great 'team' football. It could turn out to be very exciting indeed.
I also predict slightly better behaviour from both teams, and the refereeing team as well.

That 94 minute pen for Italy is the most fustrating thing i've seen all tournament. That Italy team are never winning the cup though so that's a nice thought for me right now.

Personally i think England are gonna get past Portugal. Not because i am English (i usually secretly want England to lose btw), but because i think they are showing they have what it takes to play a mediocre game of football but still consistantly win. They appear to play better under pressure as well. I doubt they'll go all the way but the semis are almost definitely looming.

i caught most of the england-ecuador game. i'm a total casual sports spectator, but is it generally acknowledged that beckam doesn't do shit except awesome free kicks? or was this just that one game (or my stupidity). i did like seeing posh's tits though after he scored.

i really like that one guy who's a forward and looks super stereotypically british like he'd fuck you up real bad in a pub. he makes a lot of funny faces.

edit: rooney. he's the guy.

Ukraine - Switzerland
Switzerland lost on fucking penalties!!!!!!!!!

This is just so sad, both teams deserved to win. The match was a bit boring I admit, but man!!!!! losing just for a lack of mental and concentration, this is sad. How could they miss 3 penalties???????

The next round would have been against Italy, piece of cake.

Sadness is today's word.....

Both teams deserved to be shot like a horse with a broken leg.

1 offside all match says it all.

We've been bad but not that bad.

Basically, if you go to ground clutching your leg and rolling around and play has to be stopped then you have to leave the field for treatment for a few mins, that should be the rule. 2 or 3 mins of open play with 10 men. If the rolling and screaming is genuine then they'll need that to get the physio on. If it's not then you forfeit yourself from the game because effectively, you dived.
