I haven't watched a movie in more than a year (with one exception - something with Colombian street boys a few months ago. "The Kings of the World" or something like that. it was good.).

Opening my film folder, the first thing that caught my eye was the 2019 version of Charlie's Angels, so what better way to kick off than with this certain masterpiece.

That's playing next month here at a festival I translate for, just translated the synopsis a couple days ago and thought it sounded great (and that is the title). Where did you see it?

It's got Kristen Stewart in it! That's one point already.

Funny, wholesome and well-made. Cute flirting. Directed by Elizabeth Banks (Kim in Scrubs), who's in the movie too. It got that bald guy who looks like he's been 75 years old for eternity. Naomi Scott was great. Great acting all around. But the boss character (Nat Faxon) really took it down.

For a cinema action comedy 8/10 recommend.

Maybe I'm mixing up metaphors here? I meant that he was good, not that he brought the movie down.

Watching Don't Worry Darling (2022). Creepy. Love Florence Pugh as always but Chris Pine is taking it home.

Chris Pine's face-game is on point in this movie as well.

I finally watched "Beau is Afraid". The critics were so savage to it, and I'm such a fan of people getting big studio money to make super weird films that I was kind of rooting for it from the first scene. It's just as hilarious and agonizing as everyone says. It almost could have just existed in the magical realist, heightened-anxiety ultra violent city and been fully satisfying without going into the deep, Freudian, Oedipal odyssey.

There were times where the mommy issues became too heavy handed, and the 3 hour run time could have been tightened up by 20-30 minutes worth of cuts. But dang, what a memorably iconic movie, warts and all. It had to be one of the funniest sex scenes, Parker Posey and Joaquin Phoenix were totally fearless.
