Man this type of music really comes through with a live band. It's like the songs for the first time are fully realized. Or at least it's like the same song was written twice, and both times were like the first time. Compare this version of "Stranger" with the album one (which I listened to afterwards). Ok I also hate that particular drum sound but still.
And I love H.E.R. on record but her Tiny Desk concert is something else.

ZZ Top - "Master of Sparks"
Had a dub of Eliminator back in the eighties as a little shit, and liked it just fine, but have only just recently made time for the early stuff (pre-meddling versions). Only so many hours in the day, etc. But yeah, it cooks, as many have noted. I prefer the production here to the more Top 40-bound stuff. Feels way more intimate.

Not sure what style of music this is...downbeat electro-funk? I remember when some people (friends of friends, I think) were sharing this on Facebook. Had forgotten about it until a few weeks ago. After doing an eBay search to see if any bootlegs were available yet, happened to find out that Numero Group reissued it. Nice.
