4584The Deftones album Gore, as their bass player, I am told, only used a Bass VI on that record, and I have just purchased one. Pretty sure the Danger Mouse soundtrack-to-a-fake-spaghetti-Western album Rome has the VI all over it, too, so that's next up.

4590Okay… One Hot Minute RHCP… I was listening to Flea’s new solo release, which is actually fun.
It made me think of this record because of the solo song by him on there. I’m actually enjoying it… the LA woo lyrics are kind of charming for a change. There’s some great instrumental moments, even Tony is singing some decent melodies and hitting the notes. The psychedelic/space rock bit work and Flea’s bass tone is great. The recording/production also solid. Dave Sardy is a pretty good producer.

Massive caveat. Tony still can’t write lyrics to save his ass.
