I have kept in touch with Helios Creed. Some of his new stuff is blowing my mind.
Did you see him on that last tour? I went expecting suck, and was completely blown away. Live, he knows exactly what I'm looking for...amazing. Especially for someone who is in really bad shape (Hepatitis).
Ha! Seems like he's always on tour from all the MySpace bulletins he sends out (of course, none of those gigs have been in my area).
He made Chrome what I like. I liked "Into The Eyes Of The Zombie King", but that's about it as far as Creed-less Chrome I kan stanz.
I am listening to Specimen's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" right now.

The almost unspeakably gorgeous version of Silkworm's "Insomnia" by this very board's own Tre Orsi, from
An Idiot To Not Appreciate Your Time. If you don't have these fine discs, you're missing out. ($8 US! In many countries, this is cheaper than a Starbucks triple mocha whatever.)

Wall of Voodoo, Dark Continent.
Are their albums with Andy Prieboy after Seven Days In Sammystown any good? I never got around to checking them out.

Have you checked out the later Chrome's 'Ghost Machine'? Boy, it's an awful lot like the early Chrome classics, but done on computers instead of tape (which transforms the product considerably...). Pretty fantastic, I thought.
Songs that Mr. Creed performed that sounded like wildly hideous faggotry on the albums were crazy-good live...a genuinely welcome surprise.

In my head, Silly Love Songs - Wings. On the radio, some Stevie Wonder song I've never heard before.
I tried looking for an old Wings tape a minute ago. Fruitless search...

I'm listening to the bible on my ipod. I'm not even kidding.
The woman that narrates it has one of these elevator voices that tell you on which floor you are.

Debashish Battacharya, Calcutta Slide Guitar.
I saw Debashish Battacharya perform at the Indian Cultural Center in Milpitas (near San Jose) this past weekend. His younger brother played tablas and his sister played tamboura and sang.
They played music for about 5 hours. They didn't fail to be utterly mesmerizing for one second.

I love Dark Continent.
Today I'm all over Brian Eno - Here come the warm jets, and the first Harmonia LP.
