Big Star - 'In Space'... not sure what my opinion is yet (this is my 1st listen, and I haven't had the luxury of full concentration), but a lot of it so far sounds like the Posies guys are kind of dominating the proceedings... hmm.

I have kept in touch with Helios Creed. Some of his new stuff is blowing my mind.

Did you see him on that last tour? I went expecting suck, and was completely blown away. Live, he knows exactly what I'm looking for...amazing. Especially for someone who is in really bad shape (Hepatitis).

Ha! Seems like he's always on tour from all the MySpace bulletins he sends out (of course, none of those gigs have been in my area).

He made Chrome what I like. I liked "Into The Eyes Of The Zombie King", but that's about it as far as Creed-less Chrome I kan stanz.

I am listening to Specimen's "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" right now.

Have you checked out the later Chrome's 'Ghost Machine'? Boy, it's an awful lot like the early Chrome classics, but done on computers instead of tape (which transforms the product considerably...). Pretty fantastic, I thought.

Songs that Mr. Creed performed that sounded like wildly hideous faggotry on the albums were crazy-good live...a genuinely welcome surprise.

I stopped checking out their albums after "Live in Lyon" (or a name something similar to that). I may check out Ghost Machine based on your recommendation.

It's kind of sad that the only thing easily attainable from their back catalog is the Half Machine Lip Moves/Alien Soundtracks CD. There were other albums that outshined these two, but they are not available unless you comb eBay closely, and even then you'll pay a harsh premium.

I got the Chrome CD box used, and it cost an arm and a leg. But it was worth it.

I'm listening to "Dangerzone" by Chrome right now.

I am listening to the new Deerhoof record, Friend Opportunity, that will be coming out in January.

I am loving the last song on the record in particular. I wonder what their many new-found fans will make of this song.
