Hello Tim,

I have a few quick questions and a story that you might enjoy.

On a car trip earlier this year, I lost the CD that came with my copy of Hammer Of The Gods. Is there any chance that you folks have any discs left that weren't mated to their vinyl counterparts? And, if so, could I buy one via PayPal?

I recall you mentioning Sensaphonic earplugs in an old thread from ages ago. Do you still have such a high opinion of them? I'm considering an upgrade from my crusty old Westones.

Today I had lunch with an old friend whose brother is a furniture builder/restorer. He told me that his brother recently refinished a hand-carved wooden toilet seat that belongs to Nile RODGERS of your beloved CHIC. Apparently this fancy toilet seat was a gift from Prince Charles.

That's all. Thanks!

Tim: how's your bowling? What other games and sports have you played in a satisfying way?

I am a shitty bowler. I'm better than Barack Obama, but I'm probably sub-100 when I try to do it.

I am not extremely adept at any games or sports. I'm coordinated, nothing special at anything.

I am an OK basketball and baseball player. Weak swimmer.

P.S. Last Chicago-bound train goes through Highwood at 12:16 a.m. tonight.

This show ended up being wack. The place sounded dreadful. Light turnout. You didn't miss anything if you did not go.

Effigies played well, but the sound was so lame that it was a losing battle. I'd like to see them in a real club soon.

Does your middle name begin with an 'i'? Because if it did, your initials would be TIM. Pretty awesome, huh?

It would be awesome, but my parents didn't get their shit together on that one.

I actually do not have any extra CDs. They all got used in the records. Sorry.

I just had new ones made. I have to go pick 'em up. So yeah, I do still think they're good--better than Westones b/c they are soft.

That is actually mindblowing. What the hell.

Everything about that is incredible.

1. Someone has a hand-carved toilet seat.

2. This person needs it refinished...? What?

3. This person is NILE RODGERS.

4. Nile Rodgers was given the hand-carved wooden toilet seat as a gift. Someone else saw fit to present him with this object.

5. That 'someone else' was Prince Charles of Wales.

6. You know the person who refinished it.

Amazing.

Nirvana "Milk It"
Best Nirvana song?

I like it.

It's one of their songs that I think is kind of great.

I guess there's that, Negative Creep, Sliver, and In Bloom. Those are probably my favorite Nirvana songs.

Too bad about the show, Tim. Sounded like a great idea. They fix the sound, and I would look forward to a show like that much more than a club show.

Yeah...no. The place is kind of cluelessish.

I enjoyed my evening, but the playing was maybe the least enjoyable part of the evening.

It had potential, but it didn't quite live up to it.

Maybe the toilet seat was from the other Prince Charles.

Ha ha! Of course. My mind is incrementally less blown.

Any chance of seeing Bottomless Pit in the UK sometime soon?

If we ended up in some fluky great position to come over, sure.

Otherwise, I doubt it.

Either/Or: Polvo or Archers of Loaf?

I have no real bead on either band. I saw them both a couple of times in passing.

I am sure they are both good, but I have no feel for what they are doing, if that makes any sense.

Parliament/Funkadelic?

My instant reaction is Funkadelic, and that is probably accurate.

But I love Funkentelechy and Mothership Connection....

Probably Funkadelic. Maggot Brain is a great record, Standing on the Verge is great. One Nation, Cosmic Slop. I might like those two best Parliament records the best, barely.
