2024 wasn't a good year for horror IMO, but Cuckoo, In A Violent Nature, and It's What's Inside were the highlights for me; in most other years they'd be honorable mentions. Pretty much all the stuff I was looking forward to was a disappointment lol.

Aside from the over hyped business I thought 2024 was pretty good. Red Rooms, Oddity, The Coffee Table, and In a Violent Nature were highlights. By way of narrative Daddy's Head wasn't great, but, the creature and sound design got to me in the best way.

Fine, 2024 needs all the help it can get.
Hey now!
Updated list
Red Rooms
Oddity
The Coffee Table Nosferatu
Strange Darling
In a Violent Nature
The Substance
MadS
The Devil's Bath
It's What's Inside
Daddy's Head Love Lies Bleeding
Got this in just under the wire. Loved it. Pulpy surrealist body horror gts vore fetish queer erotic thriller done right. Horror-adjacent. It counts!
Also rewatched Unwelcome (2023) and loved it more than the last time. I wish it would've leaned more into weirder territory but overall a fun and entertaining mess.

Watched the first installment of The Blackwell Ghost, a found footage movie with footage from supposed real spectral encounters found on the Internet. If you enjoy ghost stories or trawling for supernatural encounters on YT like myself I guess you might find something to like about this, but I found it kind of mid. There are like 7 more installments so who knows.
Anguish starring Zelda Rubenstein and Michael Lerner. Quite possibly Zelda Rubenstein's best role and that's stating a lot. Weird meta filmmaking for 1987. Highly recommended!
