With neighbors like these, no need to go to a city fireworks display.

Well, shit. I hope none of my Chicago area friends went to the parade in Highland Park today.

In theory I should be jubilant that the least trustworthy prime minister I've known in my time - and yes I am including Thatcher and Blair in that reckoning - but I was rather hoping he'd stick it out and cost his party the next election in the process.
Here's hoping the next Tory leader will be someone even less electable, or at least that the lies Johnson told whilst in power will have such a knock-on effect that the electorate will at least consider giving the opposition a chance (not that I'm a huge fan of Starmer either, but I can't imagine him being any worse than Johnson was).

Just saw a concert clip from the weekend where a highly regarded indie rocker was doing the '2 dudes singing backing vocals into the main dude's mic' thing, on a stage that probably has half a million dollars worth of gear. Pretty sure there's an extra SM-58 around guys, you don't need to do that anymore.. (not sure anyone did outside of a youth crew hardcore show in a VFW..)

The reason I'm so specific about deadlines, and mention them during our meeting and also in the follow-up emails I send, is because I have no control over much of the process, and for many vendors, etc., that I work with to make things perfect for you...a deadline's a deadline. Please stop yelling at me because I literally can't change/provide/create something for the service because I didn't have what I absolutely needed when I needed it. And yes, I realize that since you took the responsibility for this task, your family will be angry.

Lord, do I feel this. (But I'm in a different line of work...)
Blowing deadlines has consequences. Surprising, right?

I’m so glad Husker Du existed.
