I'm not intimately involved in this...but I second that.

Hi,

I just want to say thank you to anyone who is attending any part of the trial (which starts today w/jury selection).

Andy and I are not going to be there, for a variety of reasons, most of which are easy to guess.

If so many other people were not going, I would feel compelled to go. I am very relieved that I don't feel I have to be there..

Much, much love and respect to you all.

Tim

Mr. Chimp wrote:OK the quick update:

Defense has opted for a bench trial. Therefore, no jury selection required, and the process as a whole streamlines a bit.

Set to go tomorrow. Court on all days will start no earlier than 10AM, to wrap basically 5PMish. Prosecution on Tuesday and Wednesday, Defense on Thursday & Friday, Prosecution rebuttal on Monday 10/22.

Longform report to be posted through standard channels, and probably will continue throughout the course of the trial. Then we'll see about duplicating it here.

The State presents their case starting Tuesday, October 16th.

Start time 10 AMish. Room #206. Cook County Courhouse, Old Orchard Rd, Skokie IL

Weird. Accidentally posted this over my last post somehow. Sucks. Anyway.

The covered the court case on the Channel 9 news tonight. They showed a shot of people that I think they described as "friends of the victims" standing outside talking, which I can only assume to be some of y'alls, though I didn't see anyone I could easily recognize. From the way they talked during the coverage, and especially with them putting up a graphic on the screen of her words to the cop about something like "it didn't work. i was supposed to die. why won't you let me die??" or something like that, she came out sounding like a selfish dick and a guilty one at that. they also refered to her as a "former model" and showed a picture of her looking kinda whorish.
