I don't mind them. The drummer is very good.

The negative over reaction on this forum to any band with even a whiff of popularity about them amuses/depresses me as much as the NME's gushing overly positive reaction to the next big thing.
In my opinion, if most of the people spitting vitriol above had come across this band independently there isn't a chance they'd be so negative.
This whole hype = shite attitude (which someone recently started a thread about) is not CRAP - it's fucking pathetic.
Arctic Monkeys definitely not the 3rd best album of all time
but also definitely NOT CRAP

You should hang-out with more '
between-job actors'. They make this stuff seem light-hearted and cute.
Plus at least a guitarist will accept that he's a pizza-deliverer while he's delivering your pizza...

This is the only thing I've ever been exposed to by this band. It's no King Hot Pants, but it's pretty decent.

Good lyrics (Certain Romance in particular) and some nice tunes from these genuinely nice lads who have, for young people, very encouraging attitudes towards the mainstream music business and the marketing bullshit that goes with it. They are great live to boot and to see what wankers they could be given their age and attention - you only have to check out Razorlight..
so NOT CRAP

I like both the first and the second record. Good energetic pop schlock.
Very hyped. Overhyped. Doesn't matter.
Good stuff.

I'm not a fan of the band but I agree with what you're saying, this sort of attitude from a lot of people here get's tiresome.

I am not aware of any 'hype' surrounding this band at all. I do not know what they look like and until this forum peaked my curiosity I had never heard one of their songs. It does not bother me that they are British either. I am a big fan of the Gringo Records crowd, who are mainly British.
However, I cannot help that this band is CRAP. It is not based on anything else except hearing their CRAP music. I hope they are very happy and have lots of success here and abroad. As long as I never hear it on Radio 4 or my iPod, good luck to them with their CRAP music. One day I hope my own CRAP music is as well received by even a fraction of the people that (I presume) like this CRAP band.
