Scott. This fine post has made me laugh first thing in the morning. Salut!

I always preferred Voltron ("lion" or "car" variety) to the Transformers.

I don't think anyone has addressed this yet, which surprises the hell out of me, but the absolute best part of this movie is that it's a kids' movie, yet there is cursing.

During one battle scene, someone gets hit with a lazer or something and totally yells "SHIT!"

And then later on during another battle scene, I think that maybe the human dude is all "WHAT THE HELL?"

Transformers as a toy, cartoon, or movie: NOT CRAP

Has that unedited version of the movie surfaced yet? They swore in the theaters, but then took it out of subsequent video releases.

Interesting. All I know is that my old roommate had it on DVD, so maybe one can get the "director's cut" or "unedited" version on DVD.

There was also an interview with STAN BUSH, the aforementioned writer and performer of "The Touch." All in all, this DVD is definitely worth purchasing for any discerning Transformers collector.

Trailer for the Michael Bay movie.
It looks okay.
Kind of a shitty War of the Worlds kind of premise though.

I grew up on Transformers. I watched the cartoon all the time. I cried when Optimus Prime died. They are a part of my youth, as much as G.I. Joe, the Smurfs, He Man, Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny.

My buddy is working on the sound FXs for the live action movie. He's says it looks awesome, the script of course is sub par. Apparently, the transformers are looking for the power chrystal after finding it on ebay through space transmissions. GAY!

...sometime later: hey did you notice the guy with a strokes shirt on?

Saw the preview and it looks pretty cool, but remember independence day looked like it'd be pretty cool after seeing the first wave of previews too.

By the way, no mention of the kiler soundtrack other than "Dare to Be Stupid?" Let's not forget those great songs by Stan Bush, "The Touch" (which was used in Boogie Nights in the scene where Dirk and Chest are trying to cut a demo) and "Dare" (Which is covered in spectacular fashion by Bloomington's The Sump Pumps).

Full version of the movie theme

If you ignore that it's a theme song to a cartoon, this rendition is at least as good as any other metal that came out of 1986.

The video is a lame-ass montage of TF toys, comic images and cartoon stills, but pay attention around :36--is that a Unicron TOY?

But this is the video I know you really want to see.
