The Scene is a great place to play though, you guys will have a blast there.

That's good to hear. We usually have a strict "No L.A." policy, but our booker kept bugging us about the Scene. I hope I'll enjoy it.

It totally doesn't seem like an "LA venue", mainly because it isn't in LA Proper I suppose, but it's the only place other then the Smell i've ever felt comfortable at down there.

it should be cool!

Man, look at all these posts. Aren't you the Belle of the Ball?
Screw a bunch of MySpace, EA gets a band noticed.

So you're playing at King's in Raleigh. GREAT venue. I've played there a few times and they always treat everyone so well.
All three owners were in good bands. Paul still plays in a great on called The Birds of Avalon.

I'm pretty sure I'll be in town, so I'll come check out the rock.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pleased with the response that this thread has gotten. MySpace is a great tool, but the sheer amount and diversity of the thing makes it kind of a crapshoot. EA is great, because it's an actual community, and it's somewhat small and focused, and a lot of folks here understand the plight of the struggling DIY touring band. I am going to meet a gang of EA forumers for the first time on this tour, and am really looking forward to it, because for the most part, y'all's are good people.

Plus, now we'll probably draw seven or eight people to our Chicago show instead of the three people that were going to come out before I posted this thread.

Was Paul in the Cherry Valance? I dug the shit out of the band.
Police Teeth: we like Void so much, we decided not to sound like them.

Yes, he and his amazing wife Cheetie. I liked the CV, but I like Birds of Avalon more. Paul is on guitar now. Husband and wife trade licks and do Thin Lizzy quality harmonies. Nice!

The other two owners were in Polvo and The Ashley Stove. They know what a band's been though when they show up at the door stoop. That makes it a great place to play.

Excellent. The Federation X guys have been talking up the Birds Of Avalon for a while, but I haven't been able to see them the last couple times they've come through due to a strict 10:30 p.m. bedtime imposed upon me by my day job.

Let me tie this all in together, when Replicator played the Scene (where Horsewhip is playing) recently, we played with Big business and... dun dun dun duh!!

Birds of Avalon.

Additionally Replicator has also played King's Barcade, which I declare to be universally awesome.

Birds of Avalon are more straight forward then Cherry Valence to be sure, but put on a pretty good show.
