52There's some antacid commercial that vividly reminds me of that show.
"Before you could say mushu pork, Uncle Charlie's ticker exploded".

That's not entirely true.

evidentally, the pilot is owned by a different company than the one who put out the DVD, so in order to watch pilot, you'd have to buy it off ebay - alot of people sell it there.
i have it. its kind of a waste once you've seen any of the other episodes, its just an introduction to every character and the story of laura palmer's death.

Is the version of the pilot on DVD the same one that was on VHS? Or is the original actual pilot (which ends with Piper Laurie screaming) finally available?

My mistake: I meant Grace Zabriskie.
Does anyone know why the original pilot has never been released on DVD (assuming that the DVD version differs from the VHS version)? I mean, the VHS version is significantly different than what was originally aired.

David Lynch could not make the Inland Empire any weirder or scarier than it already is.

I don't know why Season 2 and the pilot have never been officially released on DVD. I've heard no less than 2,506 reasons for this since the 2001 DVD release of Season 1 and Fire Walk with Me.
The reason the VHS version of the pilot differs from the original is this (or so I've heard):
Part of the original deal for the "pilot" was that ABC/Fox/who? would be allowed to release it as a feature film on VHS in the UK. They didn't think the original pilot would work by itself since it was left with such a cliff hanger. For this reason Lynch added the dream sequence to the end (which was originally intended to, and did conclude episode 2 of season 1). If you've seen the pilot with this tacked on to the end, you know all it does is make it more confusing but...
So if you watch the entire series including the pilot, you have to stop the tape/DVD before the red room dream thing at the end of the pilot.

60I liked it better when it was called Wild At Heart. I'd rather watch The
Prisoner.
