Well, yes, there is that...

Can I just add that if I had my way all borders, countries and flags would be abolished forever. Because of this, I find it amusing to pretend to be the patriot. England has been shafting my ancestors for centuries. The monarchy is fucked. But still fascinating. All I've seen of France in real life is some coastline, fields and sheep. So I know NOTHING. Thanks.

France - 'cuz they have better food and wine, and also
more hotties than anybody except possibly the Italians.
fuck you, they also invented blowjobs didn't they.

other than that they also got better Shellac pictures than
the teabags.

that one where Bob and Todd are holding Steve upside
down by the ankles in front of the Arc D'Triumph always
makes me laugh - and usually out loud.

T.S.Eliot was american.

He emigrated because he wanted to be like his hero, Ezra Pound. He was offically a Brit when he died.

As for the poll, this is tough for me. I love France. The people, the food, I dig what little of the language I can speak, and Paris is an amazing city.

I'm going with Britain on a technical.
I've been to just about every corner of it, I was a Brit Lit major, I know how to fix old Land Rovers, love their amps, grew up on their music (although I do love Jacques DuTronc and Serge), and I really like the weather, as crazy as it sounds.

Both countries, I love you, but I can only take one of you to the prom, so I'm choosing Britain and her awful teeth over France and her hairy armpits.

Alex, this is interesting: we're so close in justifications (well, I can't repair Land Rovers, but I'm fond of Minis), but I have to go with France. They sure chew a lot of gum in Paris, but aside from that, I'll throw in with France. (If you want an equivalence to Nerbly's Tom E, I'll see your Tom and raise you Man Ray.)
