Yeah but the stand up video was the first time he ever did stand up. The best stuff is his shows on XFM, which there are probably archives of on their website. spontaneous irreverent and brilliant.

what other station do we have in the uk for good music.

all the major ones are shit.

Agreed; easily his funniest stuff.


They were indeed the highlight of many a slow Sunday afternoon. Also the first time I heard Wesley Willis.

I used to see Gervais around quite a lot, as he was the entertainments manager of the Student Union when I studied in London. His segments on the 11 o'clock show were great, I especially remember his impersonation of Andy Kershaw as impersonating 'Kersh' is something that personally gives me great pleasure.
