The Packers don't need an all-world receiver anyway. If they aquire someone as equally solid as Driver, that person will have big-play ability with Favre delivering the passes to him. Jennings will have a breakout year as well, and then the receiving corps will be solid.

They need a tight end the most, though. The red zone offense was shit because Bubba Franks suddenly morphed into, i dunno, a lineman with shitty hands or something.

Yeah, I agree-what happen to Bubba? He used to be able to catch the damn ball. I guess not being a focus of the offense for couple seasons caused him to forget how to hang on to the damn ball. I understand diminishing skills as you get older, but catching a ball is basic fundamentals. Jeez- that was frustrating to watch at the end of the season.

Exactly. I think Moss would be too high of a price tag when its a toss-up as to whether he'd even try to play well or not. They've got Driver, and I think you're right about Jennings, he's in position to do some great things. Granted, this is if they all stay healthy.

The problem I see with this whole thing is the Packers' general reluctance to pick up players in free agency. They're long-time believers in filling holes using the draft. That being said, I don't think Randy has the ability to get the same price tag as he used to be able to. And to top it off Mortensen reported "a Raiders source" saying Raiders owner Al Davis "will only ask for a third-round pick and a receiver for a trade."

That's a lot of big talk for a fan of a team that obviously has their quarterback situation well under control.

With so-called "fading skills" he's still in the top 10 of NFL quarterbacks, and he's still powerfully fun to watch. I'll take that over a quarterback's development being stunted because he couldn't stay healthy for the first two or three years of his career.

I'm not about to defend Grossman after the debacle I witnessed yesterday. In fact, it drives me absolutely NUTS when people compare him with Favre. DUDE'S BEEN INJURED 3 TIMES IN HIS CAREER TO FAVRE'S ZERO!!!!!!! Stop with the comparisons just because he's a "gun-slinger".

Favre is fun to watch & I've had that pleasure many many times. Sadly, the first record Favre'll break next season will be the all-time interception mark. I'm just saying the instant gratification of watching Favre for yet another year (and not making a run into the playoffs) may fuck up the Pack's shot at setting themselves up for another great QB. Which is all just fine by me, as I'm a Bear's fan.
