Go away you humorless, cynical, cold-hearted bastard....just go away.

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. (Quoting 'Shaun of the Dead') - a good picture

My vote is for the Life Aquatic as the funniest movie I've seen recently.

Sweet jesus. If you're idea of a riotous comedy is Wes Anderson, we must never, ever watch a movie together. Sweet? Yes. Charming? Sometimes. But funniest comedy? Damn, man. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that.

Out of curiosity, what other recent comedies do you consider essential?

I liked "Big Fish", even though its not Tim Burton's best. Not essential, but entertaining.

"What About Bob" with Bill Murray is very funny, not real recent though.

i went into wedding crashers expecting to hate it, because it was recommended by my sister, who has the cultural palette of an MTV/VH1 viewer. i enjoyed the film, right up until the will ferrell cameo. it was a most unnecessary, bullshit time-waster that had absolutely nothing to do with the plot. i was almost moved to turn it off after that awful reveal.

other than that, it was a good comedy. not caddyshack, though.

That's what I was thinking. I liked Big Fish a lot, but who the hell laughed at that? Maybe a couple of giggles, but that's no comedy.

ok i watched it... wedding crashers was actually pretty funny! i expected snl caliber backwash, but it was much better than that. also suprised to see sasha baron cohen's fiance in it as vince vaughn's dish. so funny! best comedy since caddyshack?.... well, no, but worth a watch anyway.

Well, it beats sitting on a child and crying like the toilet of a 747.

This is TRUE.
