Well I go to the Hip Hop festival at the same park. That show is tighter than JFK airport including metal detectors 30 NYPD and twice that private securty. Riot gates putting the line to get in down the sidewalk on river street to the front gate where you are IDed at a long desk and let in past the security folds.
I think if you know people which I bet you do you can arrange something or if you get in the park in the afternoon before the event you might talk you way in but the security in this particular park is over the top. Please do not think that I am in any way dissing you.
Just saying the security in NYC is like over the top - super high especially this week due to bombing in england.
The Thurston Moore wig thing is a true story some people were wearing wigs and inpersenating him to get into shows a couple of years back. Then he would arrive and get hassled cause he was not himself.
If a lot of posters are going to be there anyway maybe I should nominate one of the local quiter watering holes and those interested could meet up after.

Seriously. With all the shit I can expect will happen with this show, I should just go down to Allen and browse the bookstores. Fucking site not being clear, bullshit.

If you are still feeling like rocking on Tuesday the 10th I would suggest going to this show at don hills it has Edison Rocket Train which is great with Mike Edison and Chandler from the Ranch Hands
Mort Todds new magizine project (Cracked Magizine the Uggly Family with Dan Clowes) which involves the Dibolitque Movies and Fumettti reprinted from Italy. Real cool stuff a couple of the movies will be shown as well as the first availble copies of the magizine fummetti reprint.
It is at Don Hills

Double postin
Edison origionaly did the band just him on slide guitar with a chick (with large visible breasts) playing marakas al la bo diddly it was awsome. He toured europe and broke his arm on tour and just had a metal slide built into the cast. Crazy.
this is the first I heard of Chandler being back but he rocks too.
As well there is the ex member of the bebe buel band?
The magizine looks crazy too mort todd is wack.

No RSVP info as of today. Talked to a journalist who says that journalists are kind of getting the run arround too about the "list".

This thing is going to happen.
It is being hyped to death, which is appropriate for how awesome it's going to be. Thousands of people in the same boat as us will show up having RSVP'd, and thousands more who didn't RSVP will show as well. They will all see this show.
Go.

I will be nearby anyway at my workspace so I will go and try to see even if I have to kick the kids off the playground pirate ship in Manhatten Bridge park and climb the mast to the roost.
Burun I am up for a beer after if anyone else is interested.
Rebar is nice if you like imported beer and and plesant atmosphere. Sometime nude drawing or nice live jazz bands. Time Out "New Bar of the Year 07"
The bar on Jay Street just past the organic deli has $5 pints and a piney atmosphere.
Superfine has a orange pool table usally crowded.
Pedro's mexican food and beer - (I don't think that is good for Justin)
When I talked to the journalist on the 4th she said that there had been a similar event in battery park that day where they had used the rsvp system and that the rsvp emails went out pretty late in the game. Like evening before or day of. The RSVP thing is somehow based on the number of people on the guest list and the max on the insurance rider plus the performers, security and staff.
The Water Street bar is irish but probibly will be real crowded.
