There is no direct relation between calling someone a cunt and sexual violence. The very idea seems bizarre to me.

It's a rude word and when someone's annoying we tend to insult them with rude words. Sexual violence and dehumanisation were not intended any of the 9 million times I've heard somebody called a cunt.

Think of it this way. It's more offensive to call a man a "bitch" because the suggestion is that you could overpower or fuck him like a woman. Make him less than a man, do (anal) violence to him. The suggestion is that a woman is less than a man and can be overpowered and violated. In my mind the same goes for cunt.
