Terrible commercials you are unable to watch

I thought the first one or two were kinda funny, but now they've taken the damn thing so far that it's really not funny anymore, just irritating.

It's perhaps one of the most disgusting things I've seen....just the idea that this contraption, sucking away (oh, there are noises in the commercial, too!) at this old ugly man with multiple nipples/teats makes me want to vomit.

Yeah that one's really bad. I remember thinking that Quiznos commercial with the wolves was a really bad commercial for food, but that Starburst commercial is a million times worse.

STF wrote:If you watch the AMC drama Mad Men you may have noticed the factoids between commercials - for example: "The first ATM machine went online in 1969 and was called a 'bankograph.'" Then a commercial for some bank follows. Some of them are fairly interesting.

Well, if it weren't for one of these factoids I might not have noticed the subliminal message in an All-Bran commercial. A constrcution worker, an older man, walks around a job site, where there is a lot of construction-related activity going on behind him, whilst eating a bowl of All-Bran and talking about how he took their 10 Day Challenge. In the background, a bunch of girders suddenly protrude from a window. Construction worker goes on to say how All-Bran made him feel regular, less weighted down. Some barrels tumble from a rooftop. Finally, he urges the viewer to try it for himself. And a dumptruck unloads a massive heap of debris.

It sounds more blatant when I describe it.

Is this horrible, or brilliant, or tongue-in-cheek?

yeah, i saw that one. it is blantant. anyone who doesn't pick up on what's going on in the background is a fucking numbskull. that is not subliminal.

remember that simpsons bit about the navy advertisiting?

"subliminal, liminal and super-liminal."

"super liminal?"

[yells out window]"hey you! join the navy!"

i think that commercial was a piece of liminal advertising.
