that's what I kept thinking as I read this thread. for under $50, a bass that I never see sell for under $1000. epiphone yeah, but not Gibson. the Gibsons always seem to fetch over $1000. that means that when you sell this bass, you will get something like 25 times what you paid for it, maybe 30 times. which means a pretty dress and a nice dinner for Dingdong, pints for all your mates, and hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to put towards that XYZ you always wanted. lucky sod.

I am a lucky sod indeed! Like I said before, it's probably the one piece of real jammy luck that has ever/will ever come my way, so I'm going to make the most of it.

I spent three hours cleaning the bass last night. It really was fucking disgusting. Why do people cover their instruments in stickers anyway? Anyhows, some WD40, some lemon oil, and a helluva lot of elbow grease later, and it's starting to look the part. Like I said before, plenty of nicks and scratches, but nothing serious.

I'll put in about another hour tonight just getting the final shitty marks off (I think some of it's even paint!?), then I'm going to take it to have the electrics once-overed and the action set up tomorrow. Pick it up on Monday if the guy's quick, have it on Ebay by the end of next week. So stoked!

I don't know if it's a selling point, but this bass smells very strongly of coconuts.

At least someone says something sensible here! Because all Simmo has been talking about since the beginning of the whole affair is all the nice things he's going to buy himself. And nothing for Dingdong :c

is there any point in spending money getting the bass setup if you're selling it on Ebay???

I don't know - you tell me!

I've never sold a guitar on ebay or anywhere else before for that matter.

Well, it's at least worth getting the electrics sorted out isn't it?

Well, the input's a bit fucked. Buzzes sometimes, crackles if you move around a bit.

Might be sorted out with some contact cleaner though?

Honey, I would buy you a nice dress and take you out for dinner anyway.

I'll take you out for dinner once it's sold.

Deal?
