Had a chance to see _____ live. Now he-she is dead.

Biggest mistake I made as far as missing a show and then I can't now cause somebody's dead is definitely when I was in highschool, when Voivod, Soundgarden, and Faith No More were touring together. They were three of my favorite bands at the time. Voivod was my favorite favorite. I honestly can't say why I didn't go; I don't remember if it was that I didn't hear about it until after it happened, or if I didn't have the money, or if I didn't have a ride there or what... but now that Piggy from Voivod is dead, that's one band I won't get to see.

Also, back in 1995, the friend of mine who introduced me to Jeff Buckley went and saw him play somewhere in Chicago. I didn't really know Buckley's music *so* good at that point, had just heard it casually and didn't mind it. I didn't go to the show. Looking back, I regret the hell outta that.

Those are the only bands I can think of where I had a chance to see them but I didn't, and now somebody crucial is dead and I'll never have the chance.

At least you weren't as dumb as me to blow it off altogether.

I go back and forth in pretty much the same way about Chuck Berry... (and it makes me feel kind of like an ass)

GIRLFRIEND: "Did you see? Chuck Berry's playing again pretty soon..."
ME: "Yeah, yeah, I saw that..."
GIRLFRIEND: "We should probably go see him."
ME: "Yeah, we probably should."

I couldn't convince my parents to drive me from Moscow, ID to Spokane, WA to see Nirvana when I was 11. This was in January 1994.

They made up for this by taking me to see Soundgarden/Tad/Eleven at the Spokane Arena in May 1994.

In retrospect, this does not make up for not getting to see Nirvana.

I regret that I didn't get to see Cecil Taylor and Ornette Coleman last weekend at the Portland Jazz Festival. If either of them kicks it in the next year, I'm going to be really pissed.

You dropped the ball on seeing him at NU's Dillo Day in 2005, didn't you?

He seemed to be going through the motions at that show.

Maybe it was age, maybe it was the fact that no one paid to get in, but still fun hearing those songs in a live setting.

Well, since I haven't seen him, that seems OBVIOUS.

I think he played New Year's Eve, at Navy Pier, since then also.
