Getting fatter.

When I was a young'un, I used to be able to count my ribs (and my abs) and I was extremely susceptible to the cold Chicago winters. Nowadays I have this nice cushiony layer of fat inside my torso which insulates me from the weather. It's like being wrapped inside a nice cozy blanket all the time.

Body hair.

Nowadays I can stand in front of a mirror and say to myself, "Yep, now that's what a man looks like."

Decreased libido.

It's kind of a relief to not always feel like I'm under constant pressure to fuck every female within my immediate area.

The farting.

There are few bodily pleasures more satisfying than a good healthy fart and now that I'm getting older, I'm having farts aplenty. I hope this trend continues over the coming years.

Going deaf.

Used to be whenever I was out in public and would overhear people nearby talking derisively about somebody, I'd worry that I might be the topic of their conversation. Nowadays, after decades of extremely loud rock music I can't hardly hear what the hell anybody is saying, and I find I'm a lot less paranoid.

This would be nice. When did this kick in?

Yesterday I spent a day at the doctors giving blood tests, urine samples and the old swab under the foreskin because I'm such a dreadful slut that I need quarterly sexual health tests.

I really didn't like wearing earplugs at shows. I still don't.

Now that I build audio equipment, I wish I wore them, but seeing as I rarely see shows, I don't think about it much.

Perhaps as my five-month-old grows up, I will be one of those adults wearing earplugs at the shows I see (as free time allows).

Being a father in a committed relationship has some very certain drawbacks, but none of them outweigh the experience of being a father and watching your son get lulled to sleep by "Green River'' by CCR.

I can't wait for the rest. Then again, I have no idea....
