In the realm of teenagers jumping each other and beating each other up it's nothing, a serious ass whuping sure but just an ass whuping.
and these are fucking 14 year olds we are talking about. Why would you charge a 14 year old as an adult? They are 14! They don't know what an adult knows, how can you hold them up to the adult standard?

Call it an "ass whupping" or whatever, slamming someone's head into a wall knocking them out, and beating them for a half hour is a serious offense that deserves punishment. However, I never said that a 14 year old should be tried as an adult.

They are trying to give a 14 year old child LIFE IN FUCKING PRISON because she punched someone and yelled at them. LIFE IN PRISON.

I really doubt they'll get life. It's just overreaction.

No, of course they don't deserve life, but who said they were getting life? Did I miss something, or are you referring to this:

All eight face charges of battery and kidnapping, which is punishable of up to life in prison.

That is what one could get for kidnapping. The article didn't say the teenagers were getting life (not the article I saw).

My point is mainly that knocking someone out and beating them for a half hour is something, not "nothing." The thread title is a little nutty.

If they were black and the victim was white, I'd agree. As it stands I think most of this is all hot air.

i don't really give a fuck one way or the other.

in fact whatever state this happened in could just disintegrate in a volcanic eruption and i'd still be hard pressed to find any sort of emotion.
