I used to DJ at the old Crash Palace every other Friday. That place crazy fun prior to the invasion, even better after hours.
Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Thirds on Mike, solid guy.

There are plenty of good bars in Chicago. What kind of bar do you like?

I'm happy in most places. You'd just think, by this thread, a truly good one is rare.
I like Duke of Perth and, though I realize it's not popular here because of the post-game ass-hats, I really like Ginger Man because my friends are regulars there (hell, they practically live there) and we always have fun.

I haven't been to Ginger Man in a long time, but I liked it when I used to go there, as long as their weren't a lot of Cubs douches hanging out.

I've somehow become a regular at Delilah's now. If you get over young rockabilly kids and old skinheads still living the old days, its not bad.
There's about a dozen of really interesting people there. The rest are hipster trash.

No.

We can thank our good mayor for that. In the nearly 20 years since he's been in office, the number of liquor licenses in existence dropped from something like 25,000 to around 8,000 (I have the exact figures somewhere). It is no longer possible to open a place that solely serves drinks, you have to have a restaurant on premises also. And, of course, no smoking.
Edit: Ok, there is one place at the northwestern edge of Lakeview that is worth going to, the
Ten Cat on Ashland.
