Between 1996 and 1998 I played in a band called Shovel.

When choosing the name of the band, we had a list of several band names, 4 ou of 5 voted for this name.
Majority won and I had to support this shitty name for 2 years.

"Let the bassist drive for a while, we're all tired."

"Let's play a show at a local college for the Diploma in Pop Music students because they're promising to pay us £250". Did we ever see that money? Like fuck we did.

Shit, I'd never heard about that. What a horrible story.

Thankfully I wasn't in The Exploding Hearts, but believe me, our beloved bassist has brought us to the brink of death in three different countries. We now refuse point blank to insure him on any touring vehicle.

my old band decided to drive through a really bad snowstorm instead of cancelling a show. a big sheet of ice lifted off the 18-wheeler in front of us and crashed into us, bringing the windshield into the van. fortunately only the bassist got cut up. this was near toronto

a worse decision was trying to pick up the tour after the van got fixed, which was now happening around kansas. there is nothing fucking worse than chasing shows

best decision i grudgingly went along with was skipping some shows around mississippi/louisiana and heading up to kentucky to avoid a storm which later turned out to be that hurricane that fucked up new orleans.
