I have to admit to using terms such as these with a friend to describe men
espresso
mocha
latte
because she was always drooling over men of color in a lustful way.
example: "do you think that mocha is checking me out?"
I don't think it's mean... I hope it's not offensive. It's really just a stupid way to describe people, like gingerkids or whatever.

It is pretty insulting if you think about it.

I've heard it's actually derived from Christopher Columbus describing the natives as "una gente en dios", a people in god. I doubt the story's validity but prefer it to the more insulting "Native American", as they aren't natives to a continent that wasn't called America until the 16th century. Anyway, my injun husband doesn't seem to mind.

We call a black guy at my work "Shockolate" because he responded when a couple of guys were talking about Power Thirst on his first day.

"Q-Tip head" is actually a slur used towards Arabic peoples. Just so you know.

Are you serious? Why?

It's so appropriate for little old ladies with their tufts of white/blue hair.

It's like towel head. Turbans kinda look like towels or q-tips. Anything white and fabric. I guess you could call them cotton ball heads. Kind of loses it's sting though.

The Mud People

I tried to think what a wealthy, sheltered, Anglo woman might call "the Help".
