You can set the play head at the point you want the song to kick in/out, split the tracks there (I just hit s), and delete the extraneous bits. Or if it only matters when you're printing the stereo track, in the Render menu you can set the rendering boundary to Time Selection or however it's phrased.

Hey, Chris. About thirty seconds to just under two minutes in this video goes over what you are talking about.

The other day I realized what I liked about Reaper. It basically is set up like Vegas. Like Sonic Foundry Vegas. That was my first PC based non-mac DAW, I og got it back in 99. It has some serious crossover I. The gui.

I have been using the Novation Launch Control as a little mixing interface with Reaper for about four months now and I'm happy with it. Buttons 1-8 are assigned to functions like play/pause, record, undo, save, etc and then each knob is assigned to tracks 1-16. When I've finished tracking, I can organize my session into sixteen tracks, write out my track list, close the laptop and do something like a tactile mix just staring at the speakers. Once you get used to the scaling of the knobs (customizable but I'm not messing with that) it can be an interesting way to at least set levels, if not mix the whole song. I've also done set ups where the top 8 are tracks and the bottom 8 are pans. Reaper has a great function where it'll remember the last touched parameter which can be perma-assigned to knob 16 or something. It's been supremely useful for only $40.Please note I've had some issues with Reaper suddenly not recognizing the device but I gather from recent forum posts that the problem isn't unique to this device. Reaper has a "Reset MIDI Devices" action which you can throw on a toolbar to mitigate the annoyance.

I had a couple of Controllers connected to my PC and not all the Ports seemed to work well for that.

Since getting the Mojave update a few weeks back I can't record in Reaper. Tracks are armed, correct input selected, Preferences>Audio>Device is set to my interface (which I can see/hear is getting sound), all the obvious stuff. I can play back and hear other files but the meters aren't doing anything on armed tracks nor are they recording anything. I updated Reaper and my interface software just in case, rebooted, and still nothing. Haven't dealt with anything like this in 8 years of using Reaper, stumped here..

From the looks of it, one Tascam interface user seems to think it could be a driver issue. That said, it's odd that you can hear/play back.https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=212930If anyone else mentioned it on those forums, I don't recall it.Edit: Looks like a similar issue might be happening in this post -https://line6.com/support/page/kb/recording/computer-audio-set-up-and-troubleshooting/no-input-macos-mojave-1014-r903/Seems like the Line 6 mod believes it is a "Security" access issue in Mojave?

I got that same bizarre "permission to access microphone" prompt, which I thought was referring to the built in mic. Good searchin', FM numberthirty! (and fuck you Apple for implementing such a useless new feature. Ruined my evening..)

I know this is not a Line 6 thing, but all the people in L6 support are great.
