Not crap, no explanation needed really
I'm trying to think of a group whose recordings sound more like they were having fun, but I don't know if there is one.

the reason I picked up a bass guitar. hell, the reason i picked up guitar.
intelligent, angular, brilliant acerbic music with an abstract sensitivity that I can best compare to hearing my dad muse on politics (and life in general).
familiarity. honesty. economy.
absofuckinglutely not crap.

Mr. arrison introduced me to the Minutemen, and I am forever in his debt.
I am not a big fan of desert island disk discussions, but I can say with complete confidence that "Double Nickels on the Dime" would always be on my list.
(Mr. arrison's dad is good guy. Mr. arrison also had the best excecuted fish tank I have ever seen.)

I don't know if it's on CD, but there used to be an SST Minutemen comp called
My First Bells that included all of the band's early singles, EP's (including
Bean Spill), and compilation tracks, kinda like Black Flag's
The First Four Years. It's my favorite Minuemen record.
I'm gonna go listen to "Joe McCarthy's Ghost" right now...

I had this on cassette. There are over 100 songs on it as I recall. It was/is really handy to have.

Just watched the DVD last night. Wish Pettibon could speak more fluently. He always has a bunch of interesting things to say, but it seems the filmmakers dumped most of his comments because he can't form sentences very quickly.
It's obvious that Meltzer was a Philosophy major.
Not Crap, no waffle factor. Hurley/Watt is one of the best rhythm sections I've ever heard.

Correct me if I'm wrong... on the trailer I remember seeing a brief interview with Greg Ginn. On the dvd, however, there is no interview with him.
PRETTY CRAZY MAN!
