Cat Food is a fucking fantwattingtastic tune. The album, I forget.

I had a cassette of "The Young Person's Guide To King Crimson" with Cat Food on it- but I think it was a mish-mash. Groon came right after.

I wore out all remnants of fidelity from that tape. Simply great.

When I first got into King Crimson, I really hated Belew. I thought he ruined a good band. But after awhile, and hearing Beat, and Discipline, I changed my mind. Kind Crimson, as a whole, Not Crap. The pop songs with Belew took a little time to get, but I like them now. I like the 90's albums also, Thrak, is a good one. The latest one is great, The Power To Believe.

It's the only way I'll be able to achieve the sound I hear in my head.

by far their most similar song is "pictures of a city". if you like schizoid, check that one out. it's on "in the wake of poseidon", which is a naked rehashing of "in the court of the crimson king", but not without some merit (cat food in particular).

What is the instrument that is being played at some point during the first track on Lark's Tongues In Aspic that goes BOOOOOMMMMM. BOW-WOWWWWWWW, BOWAWOWAWOWAWOWWOWWWW, BOWMBOWMBOWM, BADDLEOWBOWMMM, BOW-WOWWWWWWW, BOWAWOWAWOWAWOWWOWWWW, BOWMBOWMBOWM, BADDLEOWBOWMMM before it goes quiet again? It sounds like a three mile long fretless bass, but I didn't think they made them. I like that bit.

Jamie Muir playing with his cock and balls.

To make something out of 'it'-or 'it' to make something out of you. I am interested in neither of these-heroes-antiheroes-raspberry. I am just interested in rubbish...rubbish rubbish rubbish rubbish...in fact if I wasn't surrounded by it...wallowing in it guzzle i'd spludge go MAD-Oh God...But i am, that's to say, I am surrounded by it, so I have no fear you see, no fear at all. London's made of rubbish-the only thing I can aspire to in the environment is rubbish. If there was no rubbish there would be...efficiency. We live in rubbish, we breathe it, we drink it, we earn it, we talk it. The minute you take of all the hygienic layers of wrapping from food-FOOD-it's rubbish, throw it away-tons and tons of it.

That's John Wetton playing an old P-Bass through a Hi-Watt head and a Cerwin-Vega Cabinet. The secret ingredient is an Electro-Harmonix Bassballs Pedal. That gives the vocal-sounding effects. They are being reissued now.

Listen to the remastered USA cd (w/ Fracture and Starless), I'm not kidding, this is right up there with Live At Leads for one of the best live records ever.
