As far as more "traditional" humbuckers, the DiMarzio EJ Custom and the Duncan Jazz, well... they don't make me puke. If you dig a little bit on Reverb or Ebay you might be able to find a DiMarzio N2, which is an OEM model used in Parker and EVH guitars. I have one in my Epiphone Genesis, and it's actually kinda fun. There's no direct replacement in the reg'lar DiMarzio line, but apparently the Fred and Air Norton are close. I just went with the N2 because it matched the Air Zone in the bridge. And it was cheap.

GFS Mean 90 or Dream 90, depending on how hot you want it. Those things sound so good. There are more options for more money but those things sound so good for so cheap that I'd just go with that.

($160ish new)If you're after something a little more befitting a lab-coat, the Korg MS-20 Mini and the Arturia MiniBrute are not bad at all. ($450-500ish new)If you're willing to slum it a bit with some older and more cantankerous (but way cheaper) stuff, I'll reiterate what I posted in that other thread: this list has some great under-the-radar stuff on it, some of which is not 100% analog. (DCOs instead of VCOs, e.g.)

Where do you live? What do you need/expect from the synth? Also, the prices on that waveformless link are out of date, but some of the stuff can still be found relatively cheap.
