as much as I hate Behringer, I really thought about picking up one of those vocoders just to run drum machines through.

Agree. I used to do that with a MAM VF-11 rackmount I had years ago. Everywhere has these for $698, so when Sweetwater dropped it to $499 I decided to get in line. Took like 6 months to get it (they were way backordered) but I'll let you know how it goes.

Even bad vocoders are kinda cool vocoders. I'm betting it rules.

Doubt it'll become my main gigging/recording bass, but it scratches that "short scale" itch quite well.
WATTAGE. Reverend makes a good guitar.

I was going to finally replace my Bean I sold, saved up a bunch, but the price for the guitars are so stupid I couldn't pull the trigger. Ended up getting an EGC Chessie (used), a JCM 800 2204, and a 73 Orange 4x12.
that is a very nice rig. Jealous.

The clone I build for Eric has been a really great bass.

I saw something about (i think) this model when it was released, and I was intrigued and mystified, because nobody explained the thinking behind only the two middle strings being doubled/octaved. If it's obvious, then sorry for being dumb! I know Matt Pike had a nine string, but I kinda understood that the lower strings were singles for heaviness, and the higher strings were doubled. With this one, why those two strings? Rather than all of them, or the higher (or lower strings)?

The reviews I saw talked about the octave strings adding "sparkle" and that's about right. The guitar is kinda tonally dark, with the fat low-tuned strings and mahogany/sapele body, so the octave strings brighten up strummed chords and let you do some higher pitched stuff with your thumb when playing finger style.

It's pretty nice. I am slowly reclaiming everything I stupidly sold in my 20s.
