My friend who showed this to me also added that at worst, this could be a cheap way to try out $alty gear to see if it's really worth it.
I tried this site out a couple of years ago. They used to (maybe still do) have a few pieces of gear you can try for free. I think I did a Bettermaker Compresser. The file came back compressed, so there is that. In the end, I don't think it is worth all the hoops considering models and algorithms have become so convincing. Plugins are close enough to me and I can like... do more of them and don't have to schedule time to do it. If they have some really unique stuff it might be fun to try out, but like for a Fairchild or something, Meh. I have a bunch of ITB compressors.

I have long marveled at this hilarious development. Should it have gone in the "All things 12 string thread", or maybe better yet in the "Compressing the dumb shit" thread, but I'll let the gear focused contingent take the piss out of this oddity and its guitar culture implications.
What world would we live in when the trail blazers of third wave ska punk, didn't have a custom, Fender, acoustic 12 string? I seriously think about this absurd marriage of factors and find it to be a sublime pairing of unlikely and stupid.

I played one of the Tim Armstrong 6 string acoustics (Only lefty in the store that day) and it sounded very poor to me. Maybe that is the point.

It's a Fender acoustic. They all sound very poor.
