I'm glad you dig Borjomi. I just guzzled a liter on Monday morning, in part to erase a hangover from sharing a couple bottles of wine and some beers w/a friend the night before. It worked well and tasted great.

I do wonder if the taste differs depending on PET vs. glass vs. the new cans. I've never tried the latter.

It could also be the Swedish palate; you are, after all, a culture that thinks nothing of chomping down ridiculous quantities of some of the world's most extreme and bitter licorice.

Has anybody mentioned Cockta? Love me some Cockta. It's like the perfect midpoint between Chinnotto and Coca Cola. I also love Cherry RC, for my money the highest expression of the cola arts.

The drink of my childhood. In Yugoslavia, we didn't have Coca Cola under communism, so we had to invent our own.

I never drink coke anyway, I really prefer this tasty treat. Couple of years back, they came up with this sugar free stuff and I love it!

And those 275ml bottles are cool as hell.

This is my favorite soft drink to this day.

huh.. I used to walk past pallets of that stuff in the entrance of HarvesTime but never tried it.

sipping on an Untitled Art Italian Pilsner right now. Still blows me away this is NA beer (err, < .5%)

I don't think I've consumed it in about 13 years and I've never purchased one in the States, but I remember liking Cockta. Too sweet and syrupy for my tastes, but still way above average for a mass-market soda. Beats the pants off, to use a comparable example, Dr. Pepper.

The bitterness and citrus notes certainly cut the fat w/a big lunchtime plate of ćevapi. While I'd prefer a glass of wine, a low-alcohol beer, or even an Americano to flatter that food, one of those tiny Cockta bottles is a solid bet in the hot Balkan sun when you've got shit to do and don't want any alcohol clouding your head.

The world needs more botanical sodas, I think.

My friend in Columbus hipped me to Brewdog and the fact that they seem to make an NA version of basically all of their beers. I signed up for their monthly 12 pack NA sampler subscription dealio and all of them were great.

The Lamb of God NA beer was especially great.
