You can un-foe pretty easily. I've done it, many times.
I'm sympathetic to the trolls being part of the place, but only if they're actually funny and harmless. I see neither legendary characters (waltermalling, AudioTruth) nor amusing punching bags (deepbutz) here now.
My criteria for "harmless" is similar to FM JohnAlbert's words above. Playing Undercover Ayn Rand doesn't rate. I'm too old for more rounds of that shit.

I'd be curious myself. I totally get that on social media where there is no privacy and it's just an open forum, it makes sense to block weird relatives, and exes and stuff....but here? A fringe website and real world community meeting place, where we supposedly have a joint interest in the goings on and can choose to be completely anonymous? I don't get it. We used to have fun with the trolls...they were part of the tapestry.
But left wing people must have deep doctrinal differences over the minor angles of things even if wanting the same goals.

I have never bothered with foe-ing personally. I tend to just skim past anything that strikes me as overly bonkers.
But Jesus has anyone here seen what takes place on other forums? Gearspace has a lot of wisdom but the behaviour their will rob you of any last beliefs that you might have about human dignity.

I wouldn't label anyone a "foe" in real life, so why would I do it here?
Learning to deal w/ (or just ignore) hostile parties and trolls is a useful skill in daily life, so I apply the same rules on da PRF.
I'm not gonna vote Crap, though, b/c it's fine if people wanna use it. (Although I guess Crap isn't really an option in this poll... )

That thread was comedy gold. I love how he (I’m assuming a he) never ever broke character, once. Every time I see some audiophile site with $500 record weights I think of Audiotruth.
