Idk what drums Dave Grohl played on that Devil album, but assuming they're DW and they sound really good on there imo. Then again he can prob make any drums sounds good. Same with Jimmy Chamberlain who I know was endorsed by DW at some point. The best sounding drums are probably like Pearl or Sonor or Mapex or something. I dunno.

Yeah I'm also a big headstock guy. If the headstock looks bad I'm out, now matter how good every other part of the guitar might be. But PRS isn't even the worst.

I've explained over and over again to people I work with why the PRS headstock is bad, and they just don't get it. I don't know if it's a cilantro thing or not

Stuff that doesn’t really need explanation, although I’m sure there are people out there who think they’re the bees knees: wraparound bridges, Rickenbackers, Floyd Rose, drive pedal with its own 3 band EQ (2 is ok), Fender Deluxe/Deville, 6 string bass (5 is ok).

Don’t like when other people use: looper pedal.

Music Man headstocks are just as bad to me, especially when they force them on guitars clearly meant to look more "Gibson".

Yeah.. I think DWs were shoved in our faces for so many years that they became the 'strat with gold hardware' of drums.

Boss DS-1 - possibly the worst pedal ever in stock form.
Boss SD-1 - what a piece of shit this fizzy-sounding nasal mid boost is.

Multi effects pedals with menus. I can barely get along with secondary functions on Strymon pedals. I absolutely do not want to deal with a display and menus. Same is true for plugins.

Acoustic-electrics on recordings. I get their usefulness, but I just hate that direct acoustic sound. It just has too much sheen in that super high end content.

5-string basses. Fuck that low B. Actually, fuck any bass tuned lower than D. If you are in a low-tuned band, just play in the same octave as the guitars. Sounds thicker that way anyway.

Disagree on this one. 3-band has been a revelation for me. Turns out a lack of a mid knob is what has had me go through a ton of overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedals over the years. Too much mid (TS9 variants), too scooped (Big Muff variants). If I was reducing to a 2-band it would have to be Tone and Mid. Otherwise I have to go through a bunch of pedals to find the one with the right amount of Mids (Blues Breaker, or to a lesser degree the Rat - which is perfect in the mids but a little too thin in the lows).

First drumkit I ever recorded was a DW, it sounded really, really good. I've still been biased against them forever, just don't like 'em at all.

Had a PRS for a minute back in the 90s, don't know what I was thinking, hated it, traded it in for my strat, which has been a faithful companion for 26 years now.

The musicman headstock is more disagreeable to me than the PRS. However I submit the following as Worst Headstock Ever:

What committee of dunces agreed on that atrocity?

Also had an Ovation back in the 90s, for maybe two minutes, and yeah it sounded like a piece of plastic, which is mostly what it was. The only thing I can say in its defense is it played great, really low action, spot on intonation, super easy to play. Just sounded like a piece of plastic, alas.

Never liked a D112 on kick drum, sounds great on my floor tom though.

My guitar tech says his favorite pickup is the Seymour Duncan JB....and my dude is a wizard, but I don't get this at all, it sounds like a cocked wah to me

I wouldn't say I hate it, but I've never been super into The RAT. Everyone else makes them sound good, but not me.
