“Why can’t this teenage girl be more like John Lydon?”
Why can't she be more like teenage John Lydon. How old was he when the Sex Pistols were recruited - eighteen, nineteen? It's a fair point.
But the music industry wasn't so focused on the pre-teen market in those days; the Sex Pistols weren't making music for nine year olds.

John Lydon is full of crazy opinions but he's also caring for a wife with Alzheimer's. Young John Lydon was full of crazy opinions but also said that Jimmy Saville was a child rapist and everybody at the BBC was covering it up, and yet somehow HE'S the one who's considered a menace to society.
Anyway, that's John Lydon. A complicated man. Scream is still not so great, but perhaps future generations will say that was the moment punk rock was born.

Nora Foster died earlier this year.
Her last wheezing breath was more punk rock than this chickie’s little scream

John Lydon supported Trump.
His comments at the time were something like how "punk" it was of Trump making a mockery of the whole thing but also claims he still voted for HRC (he's a US citizen/lives in LA).

i get being young and not being able to navigate around your terrible ideas but this song kinda sucks and that scream aint helping it. it's not NOT crap but i don't really care to vote either way. this might be one of those things the kids think is "fun" that my old-man brain thinks "sucks"

I missed the news. John Lydon's devotion to Nora through the years was so sweet. Any time he does a crazy opinion I think of his caring nature, and how often the people who always say the correct thing in public are revealed to be the true assholes.
