One of my first roommates got me into making boxed pasta with sauce packets and stirring in a can of chicken. Ate that shit throughout my 20's.
Also did the mac n cheese with cut up hot dogs. Even fancier was using cut up ham if I had some.
And the Texas staple, Frito pie. My mom used to serve it casserole style. Fritos in the bottom of a glass baking dish, covered with Wolf brand chili, cover chili with shredded cheese. Bake in over at 350 until cheese was melted and slightly browned.
She also used to make creamed ham on toast. Cut up and served in a cup.

Sometimes I just stick a finger in a jar of mayo or rub it along a stick of butter.

Don't know if this is dirtbag enough but I enjoy buttered toast and jelly....none of that bougie bonne maman bullshit. Welch's grape jelly.

Oh that shit is great. Will admit that it's even better on an English muffin, but if you're going econo, the cheapest white bread will still work.

Oh hell yeah. I’ve spent hours making a crazy ass chili from scratch and then made frito pie out of it. Fritos always with chili

I'm with you here, and If I eat a PB&J don't come at me with some bullshit bland and dry natural PB, gimme some Skippy or Jif and don't give me breads with sticks and stones in there. I'm eating PB&J cause I want a childish treat not health food.

you fucking people make me sick

I was once camping in Corsica, and on my last day I made some freakish mash of canned tuna, mustard, and pesto on pasta. It worked out so well (decent quality ingredients, sure, but STILL) that I've often wondered if there's other bizarre condiment mixes that I should be discovering from struggle meals.

but I'll even spruce up frozen pizzas . . .

oh hell, gotta follow that one up with a cornbread made out of yogurt recipe that Turkish friends gave me.

300g greek yogurt, 3 cups of cornflour, a spoonful salt. Add warm water slowly and start kneading and stop the water when it's reached an earlobe consistency (their words not mine). Form 4 balls, brush some butter bottom and top, bake at 350 til its browning on top.

It goes great with a kale/white bean soup recipe they gave me, but that is hardly a dirtbag meal.

Grits/Gravy/Done

Fried hot dogs

A fried hot dog chopped up?

It will save even stock cup of noodles.
