I developed a huge crush on their drummer, John Widger, and later that night tried unsuccessfully to get him to kiss me or something - I talked to him about his tattoos, fer chrissakes.
John Widger is a very good friend of mine. What a small world.

The Brain Termites played with Subincision once at Nevin's in Evanston. They were cool guys.

We were supposed to open for King Shit last year at a pizza place, but they never showed up.
We got to open for Noxagt a couple of weeks ago which was really fun. They talked about Some Kind of Monster for a little bit, and the merch guy told me that he woke up after drinking alot almost pissing on the guy who runs Load Records.

At the tender age of 18, I joined a band of old men (in their mid 20s!) who had a show at the local indie club.
We opened for Slim Dunlap (late era Replacements).
Slim split before our set so he could watch the Twins game down the street.
After the show, he doled out some advice: "Stay away...from the....brown...liquors."

It was either the Young Fresh Fellows (with whom I partied deep into the night) or Fading Out (formerly Malignant Growth) at the Lambda Chi house, University of Evansville. Both mid-80s. Pajo was on drums with Fading Out. I think they got shut down by the filth after about four songs. Ah, memories, eh, Brett?

We shared a practice space with Hollow Heyday (it was actually Bob's apartment) in the old box factory that used to house the first iteration of Fort Apache. Their drummer was our bass player's brother. They were a very fucked-up sounding band, and I did not like them at first, but the genius of bob finetime grew on me after a while. I think he kind of wanted to fuck my girlfriend. Yes, I know he spelt it "Bahb".
back to the topic. I think nobody beat Tad yet. except maybe DOA. But I would rather see Tad than DOA.

First show was with Doo Rag. They were much, much better than we were.
Second show was with Chrome Cranks. I like their records, but they weren't so hot that night.
Favorite band to open for: Brainiac.
